Overview. Jorrvaskr is the mead hall of The Companions and is located in the Wind District of the city of Whiterun in Skyrim. It was built upon the discovery of the Skyforge and pre-dates Whiterun itself.
Is it safe to store things in Jorrvaskr?
There is at least one safe container inside Jorrvaskr. It’s a chest behind the wooden railing on the right side of the hall area when entered from the main doors. Jorrvaskr’s doors lock during the Battle for Whiterun quest. The locks cannot be picked, and any members or quest items inside are inaccessible.
Where is the companion headquarters?

Where can I find Skjor?
Depending on time of the day, you can find Skjor in the main chamber of the Jorrvaskr sanctuary (screen above) or in the living quarters in Jorrvaskr. The warrior states that it is time for your last test before officially joining the Companions clan.
Why is Jorrvaskr locked?
You have to continue your quest with either the Imperial Legion or the Stormcloaks after the Battle for Whiterun. The doors should unlock after you complete the next quest and they should definitely unlock after you’ve completed the entire quest line for either faction.
Who is Jorrvaskr?

Becoming a Werewolf
In Skyrim, the only way to become a Werewolf is to complete the quest line for the Companions of Jorrvaskr in Whiterun, up until the quest “The Silver Hand.” Within the Companions exists the Circle, an inner sub-faction. After some time, Skjor will lead the Dragonborn to The Underforge.
Where is Kodlak’s room?
After completing the quest “Glory of the Dead,” the Harbinger’s bedroom (formerly Kodlak’s living area) is available for use. The chest and barrel in Kodlak’s quarters in Jorrvaskr in Whiterun can reset, thus permanently deleting all items placed within them after a certain period of time.
